I contacted CuChiTunnels.vn to book the 2-Days Private Cu Chi Tunnels - Mekong Delta Cruise Package Tour and was greeted and advised by the very friendly and hospitable staff. The website had pretty much everything explained, but I wanted to ask some questions, and she had been a delight to answer me.
The tour covered lots of conveniences that I found enjoyable. For 2 days in Vietnam, we had a high-quality air-conditioned van to pick us up at the hotel and take us everywhere. We also got a chance to join an exciting boat trip in the Mekong Delta.
Cu Chi Tunnels - the famous destination for tourism in Vietnam
Our 2 days tour was accompanied by a professional English speaking guide, who had been nothing but a delight and helped us a lot, as well as all entrance fees and some cool-towels and mineral water, so we could stay hydrated.
The tour also had delicious meals with traditional Vietnamese food and some accommodation too. So basically, in those 2 days, we had everything we need for an amazing tour in Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta.

Mekong Delta is also a great place to explore
I started the tour by departing from my hotel, being picked up by the staff from CuChiTunnels.vn, and head to Cu Chi Tunnels which is located about 60 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City.
I was told that Cu Chi is now considered a heroic district for the role it played in the Vietnam War The famous Cu Chi tunnels are a huge underground 220 kilometers network. The tunnels were once used as a military base for the Vietnamese soldiers' resistance to the US forces during the Vietnam War and often used as hiding spots or spy activities.
Along the way to Cu Chi from Ho Chi Minh city, we passed by the scenic local countryside, where you might even spot ducks and buffalo cooling off in the river. I kind of found it hard to imagine the destruction and damage that once dominated the area, caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was “a free target zone.”
In the afternoon, we departed from Cu Chi to Mekong Delta for two hours by car. On the way to Cai Be, we stopped by at a restaurant to have lunch with Vietnamese cuisine. Then we arrived in Cai Be, checked in the homestay, took a rest, then biking along the countryside road to get to know the locals going about their day.
At about 05:00 PM, I and the crew attended a cooking class with local chef then had a delicious dinner with traditional Vietnamese food. After that, we were free to do anything we like. I took a walk around the area and admired the beautiful and breathtaking sceneries, which helped a lot in calming my nerves and relaxing.
The amazing products at Cai Be floating market
On the second day, we had breakfast, then we took a leisure boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River) then visit Cai Rang floating market which is the liveliest one in the whole of the region.
My favorite part probably was the part when we took the walking trip to visit the fruit plantation and local noodle factory. Then we visited Binh Thuy communal house and Munir Ansay Pagoda - a Khmer pagoda, renowned for its unique structure. That was when the 2-Days Private Cu Chi Tunnels - Mekong Delta Cruise Package Tour end, and we returned to Ho Chi Minh City.

The tunnel system of Cu Chi
I had had a really great time in Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta. All in all, the amazing 2-day tour had given me wonderful experiences. Not only get to visit Cu Chi Tunnels which is the most famous and significant historical monuments of Vietnam, but I also got to experience the dedicated and complicated tunnel system, as well as visit Ben Tre Province – the peaceful and beautiful city of Vietnam.
I also got to cruise by boat along the upper Mekong – which was likely the highlight of the tour, since I really enjoyed playing and going on the water. It calmed me and gave me the energy I never thought I needed.
Sailing on the river of Mekong was one of my favorite
I also loved the Vietnamese snacks, such as honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy as well as the Vietnamese culture, which was the Southern Vietnamese Folk Music. I found it very melodic and lovely to hear.
Cai Rang floating market was also a delight. The people there were extremely friendly, and they offered me so many products and dishes that I couldn’t deny. I ended up buying some very interesting things, and my loved ones absolutely enjoyed it.
If you are ready for an amazing adventure like me in Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta, feel free to contact CuChiTunnels.vn and let them do all the work. The staff was wonderful and I’m sure they will treat you with the same hospitality. I hope you get as exciting times as I had.

Excellent experience
It was an experience, that you will never forget, how it would have been during the war, with no light, food and much air and space. If you are able it is definitely worth going in the tunnel. It is not very long and a little bit of light and air. We will come back Cu Chi Tunnels again
