Cu Chi Tunnels is a common name for the whole underground tunnel system in Cu Chi area, with a total length of about 200 kilometers of tunnels, with a depth of 3 floors. The upper floor is about 3 meters away from the ground, the middle floor is about 6 meters from the ground, the bottom floor is more than 12 meters deep.
Cu Chi is famous for its underground tunnel system
Initially, these were only discrete tunnel systems, after the war continued and the local people needed more space to live and fight, the tunnel systems were interconnected. In these narrow underground tunnels, people had set up a special life. They lived, they produced, they fought and they stayed by each other. The two largest tunnels are still well preserved, including Ben Dinh Tunnels and Ben Duoc Tunnels.
To sum up, Cu Chi Tunnels is the names of different tunnel systems, formed in 1948 during the period of the resistance war against the French colonialists. By 1960, the tunnel system was developed to more than 200 kilometers in a row across 6 northern communes of Cu Chi district. In the tunnel, there are infirmary, many rooms, kitchen, storage, office as well as an underground road system. Cu Chi Tunnels are built on the so-called “steel land”, located at the end of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Throughout the history of the two resistance wars against the invaders, this tunnel was both the base of the Military Zone Commission and Saigon - Gia Dinh High Command of Cu Chi District Party Committee. During the 1968 Tet Offensive, the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam used this tunnel system as a stepping stone to attack Saigon, the lair of the American invaders and henchmen.

Excellent experience
It was an experience, that you will never forget, how it would have been during the war, with no light, food and much air and space. If you are able it is definitely worth going in the tunnel. It is not very long and a little bit of light and air. We will come back Cu Chi Tunnels again

Great time with the Halong bay & Bai Tu Long bay
Hello Hung ! A big hello from the us. We are checked into Queen hotel and also have been given free access to the internet for 1 night! Hello Giang What a nice surprise to know from you. Here in little Denmark we're approching the authum and also the weather is not such as in Vietnam: -( the sun i shinning however the tempeture is only 5 C so it's the beginning to obtain colder.As you know the two of us started on our brand new jobs on September 17 and sofar it's been a very good but additionally very busy period for that both of us. We really enjoyed our vacation in Vietnam and much because of your effort in telling all of us about Vietnam and bringing us nearer to the local Vietnam lifestyle. Wonderful time in Hanoi and Halong Bay
